I was a stay at home mom and needed to go back to work part-time so I had to look for a place that I felt very comfortable with leaving my 3 year old son. A friend of mine recommended Notre Dame. I visited ND and felt an instant mommy instinct that this was the place. It turned out to be the best decision I could have made for my son. The sisters and teachers go above and beyond with not only teaching the kids but caring and loving them. I believe most pre-schools are run as a “business” whereas Notre Dame runs a very caring institution. My son went through a period of fear and anxiety that made drop offs and social interactions a challenge. Sister Carol and the staff went way above and beyond what is expected and nurtured my son through this phase. My husband and I will always be grateful for those 3 years my son attended and would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a place for their children to grow and thrive in a place they feel safe and cared for!

Our first son attended NDLC for two years and even at eight years old, he has still has very fond memories of his preschool days at Notre Dame. Our second son is currently enrolled and loves his time with his wonderful teachers, sisters, and friends. The small class size at NDLC ensures individual attention and loving guidance as well as freedom and creative play. The teachers and sisters are the most patient, gentle, and kind people, and they foster the same qualities in all of the children. Notre Dame Learning Center is a wonderful preschool and a blessing to our family. Our oldest daughter attended (and graduated) and is now doing especially well in grade school. Now she enjoys going back to visit and assist the teachers during special events. Our youngest daughter currently attends and loves it! She runs from the parking lot to school every morning! Aside from having a beautiful, spacious, and secure facility, the grounds are immaculate. However, it is the teachers and staff that truly make NDLC special. They create such a family-oriented, loving, patient, and cheerful environment. They are so accommodating and ensure excellent communications with parents. They treat every child with such love and care. The kids simply love being there. We feel so blessed to be part of the NDLC family!

Notre Dame Learning Center (NDLC) is the hidden gem in the Conejo Valley. I had no idea there was a preschool campus on the backside of La Reina high school run by the Sisters of Notre Dame. As a non-Catholic, I was seeking out a warm and nurturing environment for my growing children where they would be happy and thrive. The certified teachers and nuns that make up the staff are nothing short of exceptional. You can tell by their interactions with the children and warm attitudes that helping raise children and being community leaders are their life’s missions. The adult to student ratio is a non-issue, as the teachers lovingly stay past their designated class time to engage in free play with the children, La Reina students walk over after school to complete their volunteer time, and Sisters are always around just to play! The religion portion of the preschool is very simple and age appropriate. They put on an adorable Christmas play, say a simple prayer at lunchtime and just learn that God loves them.

Soon after our first son turned 3 and knowing that it was time for him to start attending pre-school, we toured different schools in the Conejo Valley. It was not until we visited Notre Dame Learning Center that we felt we had found the perfect place that could serve him as a great starting point for the rest of his educational life.

Our son has greatly benefited from NDLC’s teaching philosophy “Learning Through Play”. It is difficult to place in words how instrumental this program has being in igniting in our child that little burning sensation for learning. We have been present during many of the learning sessions and are consistently amazed at the learning activities that Teacher Deanna and Teacher Mariana introduce to the students. Their activities enable the children to use their imagination, their creativity and to think outside the box. This learning will facilitate success in their future journeys.

We cannot place into words how much NDLC's program has benefited our son and we look forward to enrolling our other two boys when the time comes.
